2002 Durango brake bleeding

After driving this truck (6. 0 gas, auto trans, 4x4 crew cab) about 5 or 10 minutes, the split A/C goes to straight hot on the driver's side. You can fiddle with the switches all you want. The only way to have A/C again is to shut the vehicle off and restart. Good for another 5 or 10 minutes. Any ideas what may be the cause? Thank you in advance.

Do you notice a lot of water on the ground after you stop the truck? It could be the evaporator icing up, might just be a liitle low on refrigerant. Could also be the blend door but I don't know why it would reset after you shut it off then restart. The hot water circulates through the heater core all the time, the blend door just mixes hot and cool air when you adjust the temp. bg
