I would like to get rid of the a/c compressor on the latest project truck.

Whats the easiest way to accomplish this ?

Is there a delete bracket and pulley or will I just need to fab one up.

Did any of these trucks come without a/c ?? If so how was the belt routed etc...

You can get a non-a/c belt but I but as recall you have to change out the belt tensioner pulley (one is groved the other is smooth).

Oh yeah you can take the compressor off and any other a/c component off.

My 97 has a W/O A/C diagram under the hood. I'll take a look at it tomorrow and try to explain it.

GAmes, if you have a digitial camera you could take a picture and post it (attach). I mite give it a try, I could always use a copy for my file in case some mechanic tears it off.

Ya, thought of that today while on the lake. A little out of focus, sorry.

It appears that you are correct about the grooved tensioner. I'll bet that's a dealer only item too

I'm running a '98 12v original a/c equiped. Right now I'm running with out the a/c compresor, and all I did was buy a non a/c belt routed like the pic above.

This has been my daily driver for about a year and a half with out any problems.

So then the belt you are running now has the grooves of the belt running on a smooth pulley???
