I think this is what you are looking for:

BTW each time, I had a ton more junk in my box than this guy did! Ive done this one twice, careful when you cut into your suitcase or you will end up replacing the whole deal. When I cut my opening, rather than drilling and hoping for the best, I used a dremmel (sp) tool and barely broke through the surface of the plastic. I really was, and am, paranoid of cutting anything valuable!

I did mine with a die grinder on the suitcase. Worked great and made a huge difference. Easy to do as well, just like the instructions Digger Bear posted.

Plugged AC

This is the second time recently that this question has been raised. Someone (Digger Bear??) should write this up and post it in the frequently asked questions. It is a common problem that everyone either has had or will have.

I would be happy to, but I didn’t write the original article and don’t want to plagiarize a fellow MOPAR fan.

Perhaps the link could be posted to his article. I’m new here and don’t know the protocol for getting this done - moderator, could you intercede here?

Otherwise I could IM the author to see if he would mind the article getting reposted on this site. What do you think?

I think it would be appropriate to write up what you did along with a link to the article. Whatever you submit will be examined by the moderator (Bushwacker) before it is posted to the FAQ forum. The link tells it all. If it is on the net, it is public domain. Nothing wrong with giving credit where it is due however.

Just a follow-up . . . . . . opened up the A/C Evap box last night and it was 95% full of leaves and pine needles. After vacuuming and plucking pine needles for a couple of hours it is completely clean. Putting out 40F air on R-12 without any problem now! Thanks for the help - I would recommend this procedure to anyone with a First Gen rig . . . .
