Guys this is the first time I have got to use this forum! You guy are the best I have ever seen! I think that this is the best thing in the world!

Here is my problem! Me and my wife have a 2003 3500 CTD. I love the darn thing but it has had it problems! My wife drove it to Dallas to get on a plane.

On the trip it the A/C started to go from the dash vents to the upper dash by the winshild. Got any suggestion?

It is under warrenty, but I do not want to have to take it to the ******* and have it set for two days!

Once agian you guys are the best!

Tedd.

Sounds like a leak in the A/C vacuum lines, quite common on gas vehicles when you step on the gas and have a small leak. But without looking at the service manual, I want to say the DR trucks all had electric servo motors to drive the mode and blend air doors.

I had the same thing happen on a 2nd gen 2001 ctd. It was a leak in a vacuum line. Carefully taped it with electricians tape and fixed the problem.

no vacume lines for 3rd gen trucks, except for a small, electric vacum pump that operates the cruise control on automatic equiped trucks, if memory serves me correctly. I would say that your dash switch or your body computer that operates the soleniods is a little haywire. Dealer should be able to find it. Good luck.

Also, is this the only goofy thing your truck is doing? If the body computer is getting mixed signals you may have a variety of things turning on or off at wierd times. Just thinking out loud . .

Unfortunately they have to pull the entire dash to do that TSB. Lots of 03-04 trucks here had this problem (okay, maybe not "lots"... but more than 2) awhile ago. A real pain in the butt. Now that my warranty is gone, if it happens to me I might just suffer with it.
