The A/C line that runs from the condenser at the front of the truck to the top of the compressor is leaking. The line contains the pressure sensor by the oil filter with the connection point for charging/testing that is down low, near the compressor. It also has a red cap. .

Where can I get a new line?

If it is the rubber part of the line leaking and there is enough straight metal line at each end, you can cut the lines off and install ferrell type fittings and replace the rubber section. NAPA and others have these repair ends and hose. bg

I have ordered a few items for my truck from Rock Auto. Gaskets, serpentine belt, thermostat, suspension components, windshield wipers and some other items I don't recall at the moment. Every thing arrived quickly, good price and good quality usually name brands you can specifry. Their offerings are somewhat limited but experience has been good so far. I also order parts for BMW and Merury Marquis. Same experience.

The leak is in the metal part of the line. It is leaking where the metal fitting connects to the rubber line.

I'll take a look at Rock Auto. Thanks, Aaron

Four Seasons Temp Controls makes a replacement line for a little less than the dealer.

Some auto parts stores can repair/make up a new line.

Good luck

Andy

I looked on https://www.rockauto.com/applet.html and it appears they do not carry any HVAC parts. NAPA's website lists two lines that look to be correct and the price is like $80 for one and $120 for the other. I'm not sure which line I need, the pictures are not good enough to tell which is the correct part. I'm checking at NAPA today and my DC dealer on Monday. I'll let you know what I find.

I think you will find that the hose you need is joined to the hose from the accumulator at the fitting where they bolt on to the compressor. Another good reason to consider the fittings to just repllace the rubber part of the line. bg

I need both of the hard lines going to and from the condensor. It appears the two were in contact with one another, and have rubbed together long enough to create a hole. :( Does anyone know of a source for these things other than the Dodge dealership?

Thanks,

BK

try four seasons (stand motor company)

Also I've had good success with silver solder to fill the pin hole.

Assure no slag, loose solder etc. gets inside the line or you'll have a blockage or possibly send fod to the compressor.

Evacuate for an hour or so, to see if the "weld" holds.

You can add some fuel line that has been split to protect and add small zip ties, to prevent future chaffing.

Good luck

Andy
