A/C preformance

On a recent road trip my A/C did not feel as cold as it did last year. Got home and ran a test... at an outside temp of 70, running on the freeway with the A/C on max the center panel air temp got down to 48. The shop manual says 40 to 45.



Is this worth a trip to the dealer? It did not perform well with the outside temp above 90.

You might try the stealer...



There's a good chance they'll tell you;

"can not duplicate problem". :-{}



If you get that noise from them, you can always take it to a good A/C shop for testing.

If you've got a bunch of miles on it, first, pull the blower motor out and check for leaves and crap clogging the squirrel cage. Then use a mirror to check for crap all over the evaporator coils.

Mine runs 40-41 degrees usually all the time. Son has 99 and his puts out 40 degree air. Might be a little low on freon.
