Several months ago I replaced the heater and evaporator cores and all of the doors in the HVAC box in my 2006 Ram. I used Heat Treator doors throughout. Everything checked out and worked ok. I recently started noticing a squeaking whistling noise when I switch to recirculation while the recirculation door closes. It is worse when the blower is on high. Sometimes it does not do it at all when the blower is on low. When the recirculation door closes the A/C works just fine. It also squeakis when I take it off of recirculation while the door opens.
Also, if I leave it on recirculation and turn the vehicle off-like going into a store-when I turn the truck back on, it squeaks again like the recirculation door came open while the truck was off. In this circumstance when the recirculation door closes, it doesn't seem to seal properly and whistles. If I take it off of recirculation and then back, the door squeaks while closing, and the A/C operates fine.
I do not think the door itself is causing this issue. It is a metal door into the plastic HVAC box. There is not much to the function of the door except the door and actuator. I am thinking that the actuator is bad/going bad. Anyone have experience with this issue? I do not have dual zone control.
Thanks for your help.
