A/C retrofit?

Anybody retrofit an A/C system from a junker into a driver? I have done a thread search, and only found one related to this subject. It wasn't very informative. I have a line on a '92 reg cab ctd with A/C. The truck is all beat up, but the A/C works. Anyone done it?

On my project truck, I used a cab from a 1985 non-A/C truck. I figured I would have a headache trying to fit the parts in, but the cabs have the same hole for both non and A/C options. Everything bolted up fine.

So, you just took the dash and guts, hooked up the hoses, pump, condenser etc. , and it works? I know that there's a spot in the fuse block for it, but how much electrical tinkering is there?

so, does your '93 NOT have AC?



I've never done a dodge truck, but I've converted cars before. when you use factory parts, it's no big deal... just takes a little time and effort, but... for the most part, damn near any time and effort spent getting cold AC on your ride is WELL worth it! LOL!

I am using the wiring harnesses from the A/C equipped truck as well as the dash. I basically just used the cab shell from the nonA/C truck. The heater/A/C box bolts right in.

I looked at a 1993 CTD with 100K on it a few years back that had no AC. Guy woudlnt come down on price and it was the deal breaker. This WAS in northern Colo, though.

the last two non-AC vehicles I've purchased were from Colorado. can't wait to get back up there!

Forrest: No a/c in my '93. I'll have to replace the whole dash with vents and all.



Dodgenstein: How much of the wiring harness will need to be removed and replaced?
