A/C stopped cooling

2007 5. 9 3500 Light is on, fan blows but no cool. Took to local garage and they found pressure transducer valve broken in half, suspect they broke it. They replaced valve but no cool. Next they claimed the computer needed reprograming but no luck. Now they claim it to be the compressor clutch, I went and picked up the truck and now feel my only choice is a dealer. Help if you can. Would like to your opinions prior to taking to dealer. Thanx

Place that specializes in AC work v/s dealer.

You have two options. Pay someone to replace parts. It gets fixed and parts get replaced. Or you pay someone to diagnose the problem with few parts replaced.

Generally it costs about the same.

if you have a VOM, check the clutch coil wires for resistance, it should be about 3-4 ohms of resistance. if not, the clutch is junk. Replacement clutches can be found, but I would suggest that you replace the entire compressor.
