fuel plate

I'm looking to install guages in my truck but haven't seen anything I like better than the steering coulumn mount. I like the pillar mount but am concerned about increasing the blind spot by adding a pillar. Does anyone have any problems with visibility with the pillar? I've also been looking at the ISSPRO EV line for boost & EGT. I'd like a fuel pressure also but I'm wondering if I really need a mechanical FP guage? All I need to know is that the lift pump is in fact putting out a few pounds from idle to WOT correct? Has anyone dealt with ISSPRO direct? Since they are located in Portland I thought I may drive down there and look them over. Thanks for taking the time to help out.

I don't know the size of the pillars on the newer trucks, as I have a 2nd Gen, but the pillar in my truck seems way too fat as it is. I have frog-eyes mounted on top of the dash, and since I am tall they present no problem at all. But several times I have almost hit a pedestrian crossing at an intersection because of the width of the stock pillar. I guess it is possible the gauges don't increase the width of the pillar, but I also like the fact that with the dash-top mount that I have, I don't have to take my eyes too far off the road to check them. Maybe you can find someone near you who has the pillar mount and test drive their truck to see if they will work for you.

I bought my gauges through DIS ( www.dieselpage.com ). MUCH cheaper than going directly through Isspro. Also, you have to buy the sender and gauge seperately. DIS sells them together.

I have a US Gear triple dash mount. I'm tall and are no problem for me.

Thank you both for your help. I sure would like to see someone who has an 04 with the pillar and someone with the steering column mount. I have the shift on the fly BS so can't mount them under the heat/AC controls. I'm short so would probably be trying to look through a dash mount :)

Gauges

I have the X-Monitor on my 03. It is mounted about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above the dash on the A-Piller. Have not had any problems with it obstructing my view. Tran, Pyro, Turbo boost model. I believe they have one with fuel pressure also. I considered the column mount at first with the X, but decided on the A-Piller when it was all said an done. JMHO--or--2 cents worth! Good luck with your decision.

Wardog, that's where I would have put them except I have the electronic shift on the fly system. I ordered the steering column pod and gages from Geno's and give them a good guys report. The boost hose & fittings were omitted from the order and I sent an e-mail over the weekend and first thing this morning I got an e-mail AND a phone call telling me the kit would be shipped next day air to me. Now that's customer service I think. I installed the gages today and all that's left to do is hook up the hose to the boost gage and attach the pod to the steering column. I did take the advice of Rbattelle and proceed slowly and it paid off. I think the install looks pretty decent. I even had some factory looking spaghetti to cover the wires with. Thanks again to everyone who helped out.

Oh no, I'm too late! I'll post my picture anyhow, maybe it will help the next guy out. This is the SRT-10 pillar with DiPricol fuel pressure alongside the TST Powermax CR remote with digital boost and egt.

Thanks for the picture Scott. I thought about a pillar mount. My problem is I'm short and the blind spot is big enough already so I chose the steering column deal instead. I did have good help on the install though. There was a praying Mantis hanging on the garage door supervising my work :)

Wardog, Great photo of instruments. Is that set available as you show it or did you make the plate to hold them? If its stock can you please tell me where you bought it.
