I know that this belongs more in the "Conversion" forum but since it IS a 1st Gen in most respects, I thought I'd put a quick post about it here and say "THANKS" to YOU guys. For some time now(as some of you know), I have been putting the CTD Drive train from a 1991 W-250 into a 1989 Dodge Ramcharger. The wealth of knowledge here amazing and I appreciate it!

I FINALLY got to take her out for a spin this weekend. What a fun vehicle! Even better... The wife loves it too! Oo. Good thing, considering it is her truck! Here is a pic. Not 100% complete, getting closer.

I plan on having' some fun with it too. I built a full 4" exhaust system from the turbo back, with a bit bigger turbo and intercooler setup in mind.

I'll be installing some guages real soon and completing the interior. Then I can "play" a little bit. I would like to have the pump rebuilt, install the 3200 gov spring and get some nice injectors.

Just want a nice " :D Healthy :D " ride to get over the mountains from Denver to Grand Junction on occasion.

Well thanks again for being here and willing to help. I truly appreciate it.

Sweet! If you ever find yourself headed to the middle of Kansas, drop me a line. I would like some photos and a chance to go for a ride! Glen

Right on Andy! That's one heckuva project - I'm happy I was able to see some of how you did it - real nice job on the conversion. We'll have fun driving 'em eround this summer amigo... especially to RamJam :-laf

Cute project for sure. Were there any major obstacles to overcome or was it pretty much a bolt in operation?

Thanks guys. I started to wonder a one point, but everything fell together nicely. I WAS a fun project. I had great inspiration from our own "MadMax". If you get a chance to see his RC, you should. It is AWESOME.

I did this project for two main reasons. My Ext Cab W-350 is great, but long trips with a 14 year in the front seat, is tough. Now we have a bit extra "room". The other was the Cummins. It should get great fuel mileage, will still tow stuff and have plenty of power. You can get these things from a "NEW" SUV, but my wife didn't want a NEW one. She wanted a Ramcharger. I wanted the Power, Fun and Economy. Not much more to say other than, I want one too! Thanks again!

Glen: I will. My sister lives out there, so one of these days...

Earl: I know YOU know that feeling! Thanks.

Moose: I'd love that, but I'm not sure it's in the book for this year. One day...

Headshot: Believe it or not, the original plane for this one was a '78 RC. I know a REALLY cool secret about putting a 70's RC body, on a '91 frame. It works perfect. If you want pics, I can post 'em or send. PM me. Thanks!

James(1STGEN): Thanks... It was tough to wipe the smile off my face when the wife drove it away for the first time and I got to watch/listen. Even tougher to wipe the grin off HER face when she got back!

Partsman: Thanks!

Chris: I spent more time on that dang thing than you will ever know. I changed the design a few times. I didn't want 2 - 90degree elbow right there, but has a tough time doing any thing different. Now. If it ever happens to get a set of twins, I will know Exactly what to do!! Thanks!

I had an M715 that I out a small block Chevrolet in. A warn winch at both ends, Detroit locker in the rear and a Lock Right locker in the front. Rebuilt the brakes, switched to 12 volt, put wheel bearings in the front. Switched to an aluminum radiator.

I pounded out the dents and painted it back to OD green from the fire department lime green. A pair of seats out of a 2004 Ford van and I was in business. I wanted to go to the Kansas Krawl and started the project with less than sixty days to complete it. From the time I drove it in the garage to the time I drove it out was 14 days.

It took longer to paint than to do the conversion. Like they say, the first drive was spectacular. Conversions have inherited problems that the restorer does not run into. Glad you got er dun... . Glen
