EGT's

torque lockup question

Wow my feet are sore trying to take in all the RV's at CalExpo CA.

My wife thinks we should upgrade in the next 1 - 2 years so we have it paid for before retirement. Guess we wont be doing the 240 month loan program they were running!

Does anyone have input on the quality of:

Titanium

Cedar Creek by Forest River

Sunny Brook Mobile scout ?

One of the Titanium's there had a floor plan we liked pretty well and it had 4 wheel disc brakes which I thought was cool. Also the front is designed for short beds which we have, + looked more aerodynamic.

Love our Titanium

My wife and I love our Titaniun 25es30. I have a slider hitch in my short bed, but as of yet I have not had to dlide it.

The Titaniums hadn't hit our part of the country in large numbers before we bought our trailer. All the units we saw didn't have bedroom sldies (they do have them in some plans now).

We have a Cedar Creek and although we've had some minor issues*, we have been very happy with it. I am about to move into it (full-time) for the next two-three months. I'm looking forward to it.

I have no knowledge (and therefore no opinion) on the Sunny Brooks.

* I am firmly convinced that the real key to satisfaction with a new trailer of any kind is finding a good dealer. We have had several small issues with our coach which invloved components that are only many different brands of trailers. Our dealer has always taken care of us even when we were out of warranty on some items. The didn't have to (I offered to pay), but they always took care of us.

We have a 2005 Titanium 31TBR36. One of the nice things about the titanium is the shape. Ours is 31' from pin to rear bumper, which other RV manafactures would give you 30' of living space (figuring 1' of extended hitch). With the titanium ours is really 36' long since it extends forward of the pin.

We get around 1 Mpg more towing it because of the shape compaired to our 2000 30' fleetwood.

We really like the Titanium, The quality is much better then our fleetwood product was.

The heater is up to the job (its a 2 speed heater that comes on high until it gets warmed up inside, then switches to low)

All the tanks are inclosed inside the body (don't freeze), and the drain valves are remote so your outside drain pipes don't freeze at the drain valves like some "4 season campers". The Titanium also has vents in the roof that vent the ceeling, this helps get the moisture out during cold camping.

Mine came with real trailer tires, not truck tires like some campers do, and they are not the smalles ones the factory could get away with! It came with shocks, duel switches on landing gear so you can move each one (and a master switch locked in a cabinet). Lights on all outside cabinet doors. Came with the good power supply with the charge wizard already installed, lots of higher end stuff.

Things I would think about when we buy our next Titanium (in 6 years):

Thermopane windows would be nice. I think they would help with cooling. On ours we find the single AC drops the temps about 15 to 20 deg below outside temps while in a field in full sun. Still 80 inside when its 100 outside is a little warm for me.

I think I might get 2 AC's on the next rig. Sure that means I need 50 amp service, but I would run just one AC on a 30 amp circuit when its not that hot.

I have had one problem with the Titanium. The door lock broke. This is something Titanium buys from someone else. I have never even had mine back to the dealer.

Here is a website for the Titanium owners

I think you have to join first, and keep in mine like this site, if someone has a problem you will hear about it!

Thanks for the info, after looking through Titanium's floor plans we see a shorter one we like even better, the 30E35SA. Hard to believe my wife would go for a smaller one after checking the bigger ones out. 4 feel shorter, 850 lbs less on the pin weight.

I got to agree with you on that rig. My wife and I were both looking at it. Once the Daughter gets old enough and we move out of the 2 bed room model we have that is what we would like to go with. Notice how they have switched to LCD TV's hung on the wall instead of intertainment centers.

Just looked at the spec on the 30E and noticed that they come with D rated tires. My Westport is just a little lighter but I lost a bunch of D rated tires untill I went to the E rated tires. Don't let them say that the extra weight is distributed on the pin. You need to improve axel weights.

There not the itsy bitsy E range tires like I had on my last Fleetwoods (205-75-16's)

I think they are 235-75-16's. (I think they are the same size that was on my 2gen dually) They are rated to carry more weight then the smaller "E's" were on the last rig.

the only problem I find with the D range tires is when your sitting in a campground, you have a little more flex in the sidewall which allows the camper to move a little when the kid runs through it. Those lever locks that attach to the front landing gear and back jacks would stop it.

Actualy the titanium is a little light on the pin. I think mine is around 11% pin weight (the RV weighs around 10K the way I move it, and pin weight is around 1100 lbs). They do advertise smaller ones for 1/2 ton trucks.

Edit: I will try to remember to see what size the tires are, and what my pin weight is on my weight slips.

One thing I dislike with that plan, is that it appears that only the 2 sitting in the recliners can see that fancy TV decently - I'd prefer the couch and recliners be switched...

I know what you mean, its hard to find a layout where 4 can watch real good.

We have a TT now and this one would be for retirement so it would be just me and the wife.

AH, but those new 5ers sure are nice!

Our old 24 foot '88 Kit Companion looks like servants quarters next to the new stuff - but paid $15K for it new, have probably 80K VERY happy miles on it, and it's in great shape and fine for just us 2 retired coots too - plus, it's now old enough we're not paranoid about traveling and staying in more rugged roads and CG's like we were when it was newer and we were more protective of that shiny finish and fabrics... ;) :-laf :-laf

You can probably move it around. In my floor plan, someone had switched the table/chairs and sofa. We moved it back. At times we even turn the sofa 1/4 turn so it faces the entertainment center.

LCD TV's are the greatest invention for RV's, they don't need a whole cabinet, they are real lite and I think they use a lot less power (on invertor).

check the carriage cameo. its welded on all sides of the frameworks. its raded full time 5thwhl. it is only 11 inches longer outside than in side. some trailors are as much as 3feet longer outside than in side. some are not warrited for full time. may not be build as good. good luck

Those Titaniums are nice. . the 2 step overhang is an interresting idea. . do they make it in a toyhauler? I have a 36' Keystone Raptor toyhauler, I was looking at the Weekend Warrior full throttle 40' 3 slideout toyhauler... BOY! what a nice rig but heavy!. . would need at least a 4500 truck. . GVW's at 18K and has 6, 16" E's I liked the layout and the ladder on the side didn't come off... It FOLDED UP against the side!!. . nice and flat!... gotta get that ladder for my trailer! also want to redo my dinette like some of these new ones and mount a LCD over the entry door so everyone can see the movie... Oh well, maybe in 6 to 10 years from now when I am ready, they will have something better... right now, I want to get my hands on this... at this site.
