Thanks, TDR Staff

need an alternator for 4bt

came across this on e-bay

Can it be done? If a viper can hold a 510ci or so V10 it should be possible to 359 ci straight 6.

Would there be enough room? Even for twins.

Suspension issues?

And rear axle and gears strong enough?

Thanks,

I just thought it would be a cool idea to help the diesel world.

d60 rear end,ok. Transmission fine for only a mild hop up 500ft lbs?

engine length should make it fit, but the real biggie is engine height, have to severly modify the hood.

Slightly off topic -- isnt the V10 a 477ci?

Definitley a hood height problem there, as it doesnt have the body height of a pickup. As far as the transmission, you could always do a custom G56 or NV5600 swap, with a custom shifter, or even upgrade the strock T56 from the viper. Weightwise i beleive the cummins is a lil bit heaver than the V10 -- im thinking maybe 200lbs. The D60 would be fine i beleive if set up properly, but the halfshafts might not live up to the shock of cummins low-end.

Just my . 02
