Folks, have a small problem... not really a problem as much as an irritation. Both of my mirrors (Heated Trailer Tow) shake and vibrate when driving so bad that you can hardly make out what your looking at. It's not the black plastic body, it's the actual glass that's loose. Has anyone ever had this problem? They are pretty expensive so if there's a way to tighten them up I would be grateful for the information. Thanks!

I had the same problem. Mine would rattle so bad they looked like a disco ball at night with reflections. I took mine to the dealer for help and they told me that they have replaced many due to the same problem. The service manager told me that there was no way to fix it--just a poor design. So, I didn't look into the matter further because they replaced them under warranty. I know this post may not have been much help, but the dealer told me that they don't service them, they just replace them. Apparently STAR doesn't like to replace them, because they made me wait 2 weeks between sides so they wouldn't crap themselves.

Good Luck.

If you're out of warranty, try squeezing a piece of foam under a corner. Maybe move the mirror to kinda open up the space when inserting it. It may just keep the loose motors from vibrating.

I don't know what it could do in winter if it freezes, so maybe a closed cell foam should be used so it doesn't absorb water.
