. . '06 2500 quad cab lwb 4x4 that has 22,000 miles on it. He said it has leather interior and a gooseneck. Everything looks to be in pretty good shape. After his trade-in, he said he can get it for around $27,000. Is this a pretty good deal? He's leasing a truck right now and is about to go over his mileage limit. One of the main things I've told him to check is the rear end gear ratio because he probably will not be pulling a lot of weight very often, so for better mileage I suggested that it should have a 3. 73. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Someone just posted on this board the fact that they were looking for a new 07 and were willing to order one... . a little over 40 K as I remember but his dealer said I have in front of me an 06, not quite the same truck you can have for 29 something or was it 32 something... . in either case... . IF I could get a new truck for up to 31 I would not buy a used one for 27..... If the new truck was 10K more, I'd take the used truck as you mention... . I would never lease.....

He just stopped by and the truck is very nice. 23K miles, and it has 20" Mickey Thompson rims and tires on it. It's an automatic and has been straight piped. He's trying to get out of a lease on his old truck (2500 gaser), and his payments for this one are only about $50 more a month. I told him I think he got a pretty good deal for his situation. Any other thoughts?

Look for the tell tale box residue. Could have been modded and abused. Abuse does not necessarily show up cosmetically.

7-8 months away from being two years old. I would ask for previous owner contact and see what he says about the truck. The price even for a truck in very good condition is right on the line where 4-5k more, maybe even less, would buy the same thing brand new.
