Need a little info

John deere 6030

My wife was listening to Paul Harvey today and she called to let me know he was talking about a full size diesel-powered SUV from Dodge.

Maybe it'll be based on the venerable Dodge Ram CTD. This is very interesting to me since I had to sell my '02. My company has given me an F150 :{ The price is right but it such a far cry from being a real truck it makes me want to puke.

I think I can talk wifey into a big SUV with a CTD. Come on DC!!!

They need something like the Ford Excursion. I have 4 kids now, and I'd buy something like that in a heartbeat if it was Cummins-powered.

I too heard Paul talking about this big SUV. Something about it being to big to sell in 5 states???. I looked around but didn't find any other info, but if true like always they are 10 years late jumping on the band wagon and now the market is on the slack side.

Thanks for the responses... . I'll keep an eye out but it looks like we may be SOL on the "full size".

The we have an '04 grand now. It will serve our purposes but it's not really comfortable for me to drive (at 6-3, 265) on long trips. I'll look into the new grand though.

My cousin just bought a Suburban with the 6. 5L TD in it. He likes it. Says you can feel the torque pretty well and gets 19mpg. It's got over 300k miles on it too.

I heard talk of a Duramax Suburban, That was to come out I think in 2007? and when it does I'm sure someone will fallow. a Dodge fullise SUV!!! I'll be in line also.

I found a 6. 5L Yukon the other day. I didn't realize that they made diesel Yukons.

My cousin has a 6. 5L Suburban. He loves it! It's got over 300k miles on it and still gets about 19mpg.

Mom drove a '96 2-door Tahoe with the 6. 5L and 4L80-E for quite a few years... 'twas a sweet and very comfy rig. Compared to even a mild B5. 9, power was crap and torque was a joke, but it was better than a gasser.

When the 454/4L80E got tired in our '93 Suburban (250k original miles), we took it to Autoworld Montana and had them replace it with an 04. 5 Cummins and a NV5600 6-speed manual transmission. As with most heart transplants, someone's bad day (T-boned Pickup) saved the life of a decent, hardworking SUV!

Better mileage (around 19 mixed), great towing too. I love it...

I love those old Suburbans. That's one awesome swap. Have there been any bugs to work out or issues relative to the bigger Cummins in there?
