Well, I,ve been following TDR for about 6 months now... . Been Jonesin' for a new truck for about a year, always owned one of the Generals trucks but this time I really wanted a deisel... ..... In any case, drove a couple of Duramax trucks [ later on that subject ]..... nobody would deal, plus way quesy about a first year engine from GM. So..... I have quite a few friends that have the Cummins and here I am. Pick up a 01 Quad, 4x, LB, with a bunch of other goodies..... all I can say is thank every body on the TDR for honest descriptions of the pros and the cons of their trucks... If you think of the combined knowledge of the members, its amazing..... Sorry for the long winded post,[ plus I have more to say later]
Thanks again,
Colin

You'll love it. Congrats.

Colin,
Happy to hear you have taken the big jump. I still have a gas GMC and use it as a beater for the Cummins is my "cruiser" and long haul vehicle. I for one am not disappointed in the DodgeCummins and hope you will like yours as much as I do mine. Dave

Welcome aboard! I'm sure it didn't take too much thought on which was the right diesel.
I test drove a Duramax just to satisfy my curiosity, and thought it was a pickup best left as moms' grocery getter. The Cummins screams MACHO and BIG CAJONES!

Welcome Colin! Good choice imo... I've was a general fan also. Then it was a Toyota 4x4 for Baja. When I got a little older and tent camping was no longer fun in Baja, I needed a heavy duty 4x4 truck to carry a 2000lb camper off road and get great fuel mileage, the Dodge/Cummins was my choice. I've had the truck about 9 months and it just keeps getting faster. #ad
These things remind me of the good old days of big block trucks that had gobs of torque. The cool thing is that they get mini van fuel mileage at the same time. #ad

Welcome aboard Colin!

I bought my new Ram Cummins back in May and am truely luv'n it, especially the sound. Just last night, I drove over to a friend's house who was waiting outside when I came driving up. He complimented me on the sound and said it didn't sound like a pickup, that it sounded like a big rig. #ad
You coudn't slap the smile off my face after that. #ad
AWSOME TRUCK!

TDR IS a great place. Got good stories, advice and group purchases from here. I read the threads almost every night and mange to learn somthing new to boot. I'm sure you'll injoy it as much as I do.

Looking forward to see future posts from ya.
