I NEED HELP! RE:Labor Laws in Colorado

On the eve of an impending war, we can not know today what is before us. A great nation, standing alone, with our nation's loyal soldiers poised to advance upon a regime that has shown the world that it is capable of great harm to it's very own citizens and is destined to cause greater harm to the citizens of the world. Let us pray today for our brothers and sisters who are in the Gulf. And for the proud citizens of our great nation and our allies, as few as they are.

It is my greatest hope that in the last hour the leader of Iraq would step down and hence turn the engine of war aside, for I can not envision any other way to do so.

God Bless you , my friends, and fellow Americans

Doc

Thanks for the great words Doc. I have to feel for all the families that have sons and daughters out in many places of the world to protect out country.

My son is a Sergeant in the Army and is stationed in Hawaii at this time. His unit as most all in that area have not been called to go to the hot area we all know of. I would be lying if I stated it does not help my heart to know he isn't in harms way at this time or any time soon, but I really don't think I would feel too much different if his unit was called up to pack and go. I am proud of him no matter if he sees any type of combat or not.

I salute any and all the members of the military. I know we all will be proud of the job they do today and in the future.

David

Greetings from the dark side

Just so you know sprits are still high over here and we do like to read and hear how the folks back home are supporting the troops. You may not support the war which is fine but you need to support the troops, who are only doing what we are ordered to do. Msgt. Pitts USAF Deployed

Well said Doc.

I was really disappointed this morning with the CBS show "Sunday Morning". They showed thousands of anti-war protesters in DC, New York, Great Britain, France and Australia, then closed with the comment "The entire planet is against this war".

Talk about aiding the enemy, just the kind of support Saddam needs to justify his delaying tactics. Makes me crave a dip of snuff and a cold cup of coffee.

My son is in the Navy and could be in harms way before this is over, so I have a bit more of a vested interest in the War or no War argument than some. I support the President in his effort to make the planet safer by removing from power those who would try to do us harm.

A show of support from the majority of Americans to do what's necessary would be gratifying.

Good luck and Gods Speed to all of our Armed Services.

Pass the ammo.

I do wish all the troops a speedy trip home. No, I do not support a war, but will always welcome home our troops and wish them safety on the battlefield. It is my desire to end this conflict before it begins. There is nothing wrong with peace and I for one am glad to see the world stand up and plead for it.

What scares me is that the US will never be seen in the same light if we go into Iraq without world support. This responsibility does not belong to only us, and we should not be only nation taking it upon ourselves to go in. Something smells with the present administration, they are pushing to hard for a war. Saddam is a broken down dictater with no teeth or WMD. He is not worth one American life.

Good luck to all the troops, I wish you a speedy trip home.

I felt if the world had showed Saddam a united front he might have taken the hint and gone into exile. As long as he thinks he's got some world support he'll play it out till the end. Too bad all the peace marchers can't grasp that concept.

All it is

Boomer, all that is fine, but still just a concept. Saddam is surrounded by yes men. They had better say yes, or lose their heads. He is surrounded by a people that have known only one leader in the past 35 years, they know no other way. I would rather see his own people grow some cohones and take over their own country than us go to war to liberate them. Most of them wouldn't know what to do with liberation anyway. He will not leave power without someone pushing him out, and even then will not be captured. He probably has a underground network of tunnels that will lead him out of the country as soon as foreign troops hit Iraqie soil.

It does my heart good to see the peoples of the world rise up and shout for peace. It shows me that there is hope for peace in the future for my grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

I have different feelings for France and Germany, I think the same as Andy Rooney in that respect. I don't know how many caught 60 minutes last night. In summary he said " France has no right to critisize Bushs plans for war, on the other hand I do. "

It is my feelings that there is a time for everything and this is not the time to chase down old dictaters with no bite. It is the time to chase down Al queda. Five more members caught in Bahrain (allie) last week! Not as spectacular as a all out war, but getting the job done. The real enemys are sitting in countrys we already occupy.....

Again, good luck, keep your heads down and come home safe, to all the troops.

Take these opinions for what they are worth, I am only 22 and still in college, from a VERY small town, don't like politicians, etc, etc.

1. ) If you didn't vote or don't on a regular basis, you really don't have any business second-guessing our President. He was ELECTED to this position, even if Florida can't get their s**t straight. How different do you think it would be if Gore was in office? I'm not a Democrat or a Republican or anything else, really. I have to admit I vote for the individual that I think has the best qualities to run our country. That is why I like McCain, he has been through some s**t and knows the meaning of serving his country. But I'm getting off track...

2. ) Everyone has an opinion, and is entitled to it. However, who do you think has more information on what is going on with the present situation? The general public or the President's cabinet? I managed to catch some of Mr. Powell's presentation on TV between classes, and was impressed with the information provided.

3. ) Regardless of what I personally think of what needs to be done, if called upon to SERVE this country that has served me, I would do so without a second thought. It pains me that a growing number of people, several of which I sit in class with everyday, don't feel the same way.

4. ) My Dad always told me to never throw the first punch, but if my opponent did, to make sure I finish the confrontation. However, when dealing with the number of people in this situation, both in our country and others, can we really afford to sit back and WAIT for something ELSE to happen? I don't know. There are always going to be people/countries that view ours as the problem. Our forefather's laid out and fought for a type of government that was unheard of at the time. My personal opinion is that several of the other countries are jealous (for lack of a better word) of our rise to creating a strong, leading country.

5. ) I know I said I generally dislike politicians, but something I heard on TV the other day actually made sense. IF we discard of Iraq's present government, the dictatorship of Sadaam, then what? How much time and money will be spent 'rebuilding' this country? WHO will pay for it? Do the people of Iraq WANT a democracy? I don't know.

6. ) Finally, I agree wholeheartedly with Doc's post. War is not something to be taken lightly, to say the least. I have nothing but admiration for the sevicemen/women of this country and applaud their courage. My best friend's brother is getting ready to join the Navy in a couple of months, right out of high school. He has hopes of becoming a Navy SEAL. This young man has been training relentlessly for the last year in the hopes of serving his country.

Sorry so long. I'm pretty tired now, and got more homework to do.

Again, good luck, keep your heads down and come home safe, to all the troops.

Right on.
