The other day we were pulling our TT and after getting off the freeway and stopping at a light, I noticed it was missing at idle. The DW said she could hear a knocking sound on the passenger side of the eng. I jumped on it a bit and the next time we stopped it was fine again. My truck has never missed or ran rough before. It did throw a code P336 but thats common for my TST. I've just never actually felt it miss before when it throws the code though.

Is my TST heading south?

What do you supposed happened?

Note; TST set to 2/2, FF has 400 miles on it, Truck has 65k miles.

I had a missing and bucking in my engine that came and went. Sometimes it went a month or more before it did it again. After much searching it turned out to be the number one injector wirings shorting out to the mounting plate that the compressor for the Pac Brake mounts to. On my 04 the number one injector wiring harness runs right under that plate. If your system for the 03 is similar

you might check that out. Let me know. K

Thanks for the tip - my Pac does squish the wire harness a bit in that area. I'd really like to relocate the compresser but dang, what a job and I just don't have the time these days. .

In my case i did have a knocking sound. The last time when it really missed and bucked I saw white smoke from the exhaust. I might mention that at this time I had disconnected the Edge Juice, trying to find the problem. There was a pin hole in one of the wires for the number one injector. Also you could see where it had arced to the mounting plate.
