Need a driver from Alex. Virginia to KC MO

Hey all, I am looking for a lowboy trailer to rent or use to pick up a "box van" I bought in Virginia.

The truck is about 10'-6" tall and 22' long and 8' wide. It is like a small U-Haul van. The car moving companies all tell me it's too big for them to haul. I need to go get it myself I guess.

Any help is appreciated!

Call call U-Haul, Penske or Ryder and ask them what the largest auto-transport they have is. If there is a problem it is going to be getting a trailer wide enough (I'm guessing the 8' is the outside distance between tires). You might also run into a height problem if you get off the interstate highways. If you go with one of the above companies, make sure you lie about what you want to haul. I hauled a 1985 Delta 88 Royale down to Texas from Missouri and the U-Haul manager gave me a hard time about the tow weight. I would think you could get a large flatbed trailer with wooden planking, and strap/chain the axles to the trailer. As long as all 4 wheels are firmly on the trailer you might be able to fudge on the overhang out the back by using red flags or warning lights. One other option would be to get a transport that supports the back wheels and rolls the front wheels on the road. I'd hate to do it that way, though.

I don't know what your location is but one option is just to fly to virginia and drive it back instead of going through the hassle of finding trailers or worrying about legal restristions with height and over hang.

I have actually decided to try to find someone in Alexandria Virginia to drive it to Kansas City.

Anyone on here live in Alexandria that has time to make some money driving to Kansas City and then I'll fly you home.

Any takers ? e-mail me at -- email address removed --.
