I was reading on the 'net about the Mini Coopers in Europe with the little TDs getting 58 to 60 MPGs. With the Environmental Persecution Agency strangling the fuel mileage of our vehicles today, I was wondering if there is a way to smuggle one of those TD drivetrains into this country from a salvage yard in Europe then slipping it into a Mini Cooper body.

Why not just buy a TDI VW our's is getting high 40's in town and 50's on freeway and still isn't broken in yet .

I have had 3 new TDIs. Loved everyone of them. Referring to the OP, I was thinking more of the DIY guy that does not have $25K for a new TDI. Like the guys that post on this site that want to build something they cannot get at the Dodge store.

OOOOOo ok I got ya yeah I'm sure you can find away to get a Power plant over here but remember it has to meet our rules before they will allow it on road thou you could even find a wrecked diesel jeep and use that power plant ?
