I picked up my truck yesterday still blowing black smoke. It was in the dealer for 1 week. The check engine light was due to a clogged fuel filter that was 9,000 mi old. Then they said there were contaminants in the fuel so they dropped the tank, cleaned it and put new fuel in it. They want me to pay $140 for the tsb, I was not happy, but agreed. But they couldnt do it because the only tech that new how was not there.

So I brought it to Simi Vally Dodge. They started looking at it this morning. I told them it is most likely a problem with the DPF and the service writer asked me what that stood for.

Hopefully I can get something figured out.

Oh Man, I hope someone here can help you find a reputable dealer. Sure, some of us have had less than acceptable experiences with dealers, but not knowing a major portion of the emission system is ridiculous. It's not like the regular trucks were the first with this piece of equipment.
