man I need a GTO ride :-laf

any other GTO fan around here? :{

Yeah, it's sitting in the corner of the garage waiting to be installed in the '97. That probably won't happen until sometime next spring. All I need is a later model year crossmember and a shifter, and I should be good to go. Oo. Oo.

Looks nice

Johnrv4 aka "Bargain Hunter" Good Job finding a reall nice deal. Now you too can row through the gears... lol It was nice talking to ya in Terre Haute.

Bob,

I had a 64'GTO found & bought it when I was 15 ,my 1st race was a 66 442 w/tirpower ,I had a 4BBl 4-speed & he beat me by 3 bus lengths. So I went & changed timing chain,tweaked the carb,advance the timng ran it hard & blew out the carbon & ended up beating him,along with any 383 Roadrunners,340 Dusters,396 Camaros.

not to sound stupid but which transmission is that I am guessing a six speed but don't know my 97 blew fifth and am looking for alternatives thanks kevin

I'm assuming it's a 6sp, cuz it sure isn't a 5sp!

fixing your 5th gear problem won't cost more than a few hundred bucks. get the updated nut, stake it really good, and have it tack welded to the shaft.

Hehe,, I've got one of those under my '98 24V. . :) You'll LOVE IT!! Couple that thing with a South Bend Clutch, and call it done.
