Post a pix puller

It's about 12,300 HP

Bore 23 inches

Stoke 60 inches

RPM 111

It will burn the about most rotten fuel produced for an internal combustion engine.

Is that the new engine for the Unimog?

It looks more like a graphical representation of what kind of engine some other owners think they have under thier hood. At least, that would be my guess.

Hey, tell me that big round looking thing in the back of the photo on top of the engine isn't a Turbo. If it is it looks like it could double as a gas turbine

Yes that is the turbocharger hanging on the end. Another engine on the testbed in the background.

Enclosed is a drawing of another make in which the principle parts are mostly the same. Sorry no colors at the moment. overall height on these is about 35 feet. The brand names are Sulzer and Man B&W. You can find both their sites on the net to get more of the tech. numbers.

Can I get one of those to power an airconditioner in the pole barn, it's really hot here in Southern Indiana.

Re: Your other engine room

Hi David - is this a picture of the engine room on your 'boat"?

No not mine, I'm on medium speed 425 rpm with 2 engines at 4000HP each and 4-stroke not 2-stroke as in the pics

8000HP in your boat? YeeeeHaaaaa. Can I go for a ride?

The rings and piston are force fed by injection through the liner by a metering pump. A common maker of these pumps was "Manzell" .

The injected oil gets a one time use and is almost entirely burned The scraper rings if there are any scrape upwards.

You can see a piston rod gland that keeps any of that oil from getting down into the crancase.

Piston cooling is usual done now with oil from the crancase oil system.

Lube oil in these large 2 and 4 stroke engines might not get changed ever if no serious event happens. We just keep cleaning it.
