This weekend I cruised home to see the folks, about a 6 hour drive from here. Anyhow, just outside of Avenal, CA I rolled into the 100k mark. I pulled over, took a couple of pictures and laughed at all the people wondering why I was taking pictures of my truck in the middle of nowhere.

And then to top the momentuous occasion, I fueled up today and found that I had gotten 27. 63 miles to the gallon on my little excursion. :--) Needless to say, it made my day. I guess it pays to lay off the right foot a bit, especially when prices are as high as they are. Anyhow, just thought I'd share!

COOL! Congrats. :D

I bought my '97 w/139k on it, so I missed that one. Only 31k more miles 'til 200k. :) If not next year, will be the one after.

I took a U-Haul truck to Florida for my grandparents over the winter when it rolled over 200k (had a 7. 3L IDI N/A engine in it). Wasn't watching the odometer very close, so I missed seeing it roll over.

Milestones...

Congrates on your cruising milestone!:D You said you took it easy on the pedal. What mph did you travel, how many times did you fuel up? Tire pressures, load? Best I every squeezed out was 23. 44mpg. I'm always trying for better fuel mileage. Just put a Fleetguard in 300-miles ago. Just a little more turbo and go.

WaaaaHoooo, sweet !!!! Send a copy of your pic to the TDR and get it shown/acknowledged in the TDR mileage club... maybe a decal to go with it.....

You GOTTA luv these 'ole girls... .

Bluebird,

For most of the ride, I never went over 70 (it was dark, i was tired and not in much of a rush) which is really slow on I-5 through the valley. I fueled up at the Santa Nella Pilot Center both ways. Between the first and second stop is when I got the good mileage. The truck was empty, with max press. ratings on all 4 tires.

Just think in another 12 yrs. you'll almost have that thing broke in.

:) ... ... ... ... Rick... ... ... ... :)

I did pretty much the same thing when I hit 100,000 only I just took a picture of the speed-o. There I was on the side of the freeway in the middle of the afternoon taking pictures of my speed-o. The TDR sent me a 100,000 mile plate and put the picture in TDR mag. Congrat's now that it's broken in you can go all out with BOMBing. :D :D

Way to go Casey! Have you done anything else to the truck yet? Hell, that kind of mileage I probably would be afraid to change ANYTHING!!:)

Did you see my post about Darren getting a 92? He picked it up last Friday, sounds like he got a pretty good deal.

Smokin' Tuba, Congrats, you'll have the chance to see the 200,000 mark with no problem too. I just turned 200,000 about a month ago. and its stock. Also getting an avg of 20 MPG empty and 15 towing. Keep on keepin on'
