Yep... living here in the backwoods of Missouri has all kinds of surprises. Usually they're good things like the wild turkeys in the driveway or raccoons raiding the bird feeder. But this one is not so good, it looks like a field mouse was making a home in my air cleaner housing.

Hopefully this "performance mod" will protect my new filter. Any other wild life encounters out there?. . ;] Bruce

This is what happens when all yous guys remove your cats!!! ;) Seriously, my FIL has a house in a hemlock grove, now all four of their cars (and mine while we stayed there) sported rodent guards!.

Bounce dryer sheets will keep most varmits at bay. Place them around under the hood and replace every couple of months. Really works.

My lower air filter box is nothing but a "ring" the same depth as the filter. Prevents a convenient home for critters. :p

My Dad lives in Union, MO and had the same problem on his Ford he drives occasionally for side jobs. He was starting to notice the PS had even less power than usual,so he started at the airfilter. They didnt chew on his filter though, they stuffed extra insulation in there and had a nest! He said their were even babies stuck to the filter:-laf Said after he cleaned it all out it ran ALOT better, no *****! I thought that was a funny story, glad it happened to someone else, to bad they chewed your filter up, at least it wasn't a 50 dollar K&N.

I think the only reason they didn't chew into it was the screen that is on the K&N already. Maybe they should include that in their ads;)
