A new idea on the 05 auto transmission.

I've read where the tow/haul no longer locks out OD on the auto transmission's. Could this maybe be a step towards DC getting the auto transmission ready for an exhaust brake? I have no clue but was wondering if this might be why they changed the tow/haul mode. Most likely it's just DC with a bad case of nogginuprectumitis. :-laf

I know that with Tow/Haul on, I get a lot more braking from the engine. If you've followed the thread on the 48RE and the Ex Brakes, they are testing the transmission now. They put in a new thrust washer and bearing on mine this week (the factory left out a couple of parts when they built the transmission). I hope it is the updated one they are testing.
