Hey guys, i bought a pillar pod from geno's, its an autometer one made for the 86-93 trucks but it doesnt fit on my A pillar very well at all. are these made for trucks that have plastic over their pillars? what should i do?
It fastens to the plastic. Mine was a tad narrow but when held tight to the plastic like it is when fastened down tight, it fit nearly perfectly and I'm very difficult to please.
Mine is Autometer. Don't know if the invoice I have from PDR will have the autometer PN.
Okish, you need to go to some junkyards and find that plastic piece that fits that apillar. My 89 is the same way, no trim. Went to the junkyard and bought just that piece for the pod, works good.
Yeah, get the trim piece. I used a rat tail file to "fine tune" my Geno's dual pod before installation. Drill the hole in your trim piece carefully!!! Use a hole saw or dremel stone so as not to crack the trim in half. Also, my dual pod fit nice and tight at first, but after a few removals the grommets have gotten kinda loose…LOL BTW, Greenleaf, Stomp's truck is a base model: no tailgate trim either…
Yeah it is a base model no trim on the tailgate, but I do have the trim on the inside. I also have A/C. Not that I ever use it here on the West Coast, but I do have it.
Sri Ram- You can buy new grommets at Napa/Kragen etc/etc. Usually they come in packages of 5+. There pretty cheap too.
:-laf I have another similar shot in my bgilbert's trucks gallery, showing these three gauges and the speedo ~74mph IIRC. I plan to sit jumpseat on the dyno at IRP to snap a few shots of the gauges, see if I can capture a 4,000 rpm, 50psi boost, 1500*pyro, speedo needle bouncing off the stop reading :-laf :-laf .
Yeah, I did the tripple too. Other than a slight bit of fileing, it installed perfectly. Also, they can be order for half the price of other places from Summit Racing.
