I was at the dealer today and ordered a can spray paint to paint my A-Pillar. I want to make sure the guy ordered the right stuff, he didn't seem too coherent.

My truck is a 96 with a light grey interior. The part number on the invoice is 4504706.

I did a search and found one part number for light grey 4796190. Does anyone know what the correct part# is. I'm just trying to get the best match like we all want.

Thanks again,
Ryan

The # to use is ... . 4796190 ...

I have a 98. 5 and ordered mine from the dealer also, got the right color, but the shade was just a little light. I got better results of the shelf at the local auto parts store. Much cheaper too and more paint.

Thanks for the help.

I did a bit more checking today. Called three dealers and here it what I found out.

The part number 4504706 is supposedly the correct paint to match my trim code P1D5 (the D5 stands for medium quartz). One dealer did tell me that the Mopar paint is made by Duplicolor and put in Mopar cans. He suggested I go to a local shop (Auto Value) and give them my trim code and they will sell me a larger can of the supposedly same paint for less $.

I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out if the Mopar paint matches well.

Again, thanks for the replies, Ryan

Rammin On, just curious what your trim code is?

I don't think the paint will match anyway. I gave up and deceided to paint mine satin black which matches the agate trim very well. The dark color on the mist grey gives it a nice contrast. I like it , so it stays.
What gauges are you useing?
Cheers:
Preston

I just had a local autobody supply store custom formulate the Agate paint required to paint my triple (w. tweeter) Gauge Works A-pillar panel. I brought them the new factory A-pillar panel I purchased from Dodge (W/O tweeter) to match to. You can either spray it from a spray gun or purchase an aerosol sprayer from the autobody supply store to spray the panel.

Speaking of panels, the replacement from Dodge (W/O tweeter) only runs about $30. -$35. This way you can keep the expensive OE A-pillar (w. tweeter) for trade-in or whatever... besides, there is less labor involved in the modification of the A-pillar panel W/O the tweeter to accommodate the double or triple Gauge Works (WITH tweeter) panel. #ad
