A-pillar Photo

Sorry about the poor quality, but I was asked to post a photo of my a-pillar Mount and Autometer Phantom Boost & Egt. All are from Geno's.

Did you have to contend with a handle on the pillar? Looks pretty good.

Thanks for posting the pic. Looks great! Did you have to remove the grab handle by sawing or some means, or is it an entire a pillar piece?

I wouldn't mind losing that grab handle, I keep banging my head on it.

Couple of questions. Do the Autometer Phantom gages change to match the dash when the headlights are on? Does the a-pillar mount come in a three gage configuration also?

Yes the A-pillar pod comes in one two or three gauge configurations. Check out the pics at Geno's Garage website. I talked to the tech line and they said you saw off the handle with a hacksaw and the pod covers where the handle was. They said that for some safety reasons, they cannot fabricate a replacement a pillar, but the consumer can remove the handle. Must be like those tags on a matress...

No, the gauges are white, they stay white with either a green or red backround light at night.

Yes, they come in 1,2 or 3 mount.

I removed the stock a-pillar with the handle and replaced it with the new mount.

They only come in Black, I had to paint it. I went to a local bodyshop supply and they had a spray paint that was close in color, tried to get the paint from my local dodge dealer but they said they don't have any to match the upper interior color.

Hmmm wonder why the tech @ Geno's said you had to saw it then. I looked at my A pillar tonight and thought it would look weird since it would leave an identation. Maybe he was implying that they needed to say you had to cut the handle, but the consumer can just replace it if they want to... None of the photos look like the indentation is on there. Of course I believe you just swapped them, I'm just perplexed...

I'm thinking of going with a single pod and the SPA dual digital guage. EGT & Boost I'd like a transmission temp and fuel pressure combo, but they don't have one, at least not listed at Performance Diesel. Geno's said they carry SPA gauges but I can't find them on the website and the tech said that they would fit...

I think I may have that one solved, but I wasn't going to say anything till my paint came in and I could be sure. .



If you look up the part number for the stock A pillar cover in the mopar computer, the part number starts with 2TL (I think, going from memory). That's the paint code for "Light Taupe" (not normal Taupe), and Light Taupe is available in an interior spray paint (though it's not listed for the Ram).



So I've got a can of Light Taupe on order, should be here in the next few days, and I'll post for sure once I see it.



(yes, I gave up waiting for a dash pod and ordered a 3 gauge pillar)
