I just installed my A pillar, its a Autometer from DIS. Its supposed to go over the original trim piece but I found that by drilling 1 hole and screwing it to the A pillar you dont need the original in place. The 1 screw looks better than 6 plastic rivets any day. The only difference between the gauge pod and the orig was the little tail piece that hangs down below the dash isnt there and the orig trim has a little wrap around full length that covers a little bit of the rubber door gasket by the door window , not real noticeable unless you are really fussy but easy to see this before the install.

Do they make an Actual Replacement, instead of the Modify to fit Pillar??

I know everyone says "no one make a full replacement", but I have the Geno's triple pod and like deezul 1, I just took the existing one out and used one screw to hold the pod in. It slips down behind the dash like the orignal one and I think it works great. The color was even close enough for my truck. My two cents.

I just finishe mine to day #ad
and I agree the triple looks great, when painted to match. But I did notice a little less coverage at the bottom door side, one wire is showing when you know what to look for. It would have been nice if they included some hooks for wire ties or such.

Hey tractornut, what's the meaning. Read my signature, are we talking the same thing? If it is those green things #ad
sorry to hear it! #ad

To eliminate all the problems with the wires staying tucked in behind the A Pillar while installing it i used wire tie adhesive anchors. They are little adhesive backed plastic squares that have a loop on them to put a wire tie through. Radio shack sells them as will any good electrical supply house. You can also use a piece of duct tape and cover the wores with it but you wont be able to pull a gauge out without removing the pillar.

Tractornut, even though your in the green dark abise group, send me an email if your coming this way. There is suppose to be pulls in town, Jackson, middle of June, don't know exact dates.

I know what you mean about needing more horses for the midwest pullers. They use alot of IH tractors there don't they! #ad

In any event mine is more show than puller. I found my dads tractor he sold when I was 5 and restored it. He used to pull it at county fairs and had 4. 5" pistons and an M&W stroker in it so thats the way I restored it. I guess it means too much to pull it for more than just fun at steam shows and other light pullin' events.

But if you ever want to get in a slow race my H will take the cake. 36" rims made the difference. I must however bow to the CO-OP in Pawnee IL, old home, that sucker was backin' up it was soo slow.

Take care and if your coming through or need help I'm in the book or post a note here!

Now that the tractor show season is coming up the only pullin' I really do is with a bad a-- CUMMINS! YEAH BABY! :d

I also used mine as a replacement, very easy to do. When I was done I used a hide a screw, over my screw and painted it to match the pillar, looks great. Once i figure out how to post a picture I'll do that. Later
