I'm going to install my gauges this week so any tips on getting the a-pillar off without wrecking it would be appreciated.

When I did mine, it came off easily. It 'snaps' into place with some sort of clasps, and pull away from the pilar and it pops right out. Once you see the backside it will be obvious how it works. The new pod piggybacks ontop of the OEM and both are snaped back on the pilar.

I had the 'tweeter' so I had to do some carving to the OEM, but that gave me a hole to run the wires thru.

I didn't didn't have to pop off the weatherstriping. That may be a good method, but I can't imagine the plastic pilar post coming off any easier than it did for me. Too easily. I worried that the integrity had been comprimised, but everything has been AOK for a long time. Love the unit!!!!

I pulled the weatherstrip off first-then I used a thin flat-blade screwdriver and pushed the steel clips in that retain the a-pillar. It practically falls right off. I did it this way because I have read that some people had their clips seperate from the plastic when they pulled them off.

I first installed a 2 gauge pod and latter found that autometer came out with the 3 gauge pod so I installed it. But unfortunately because I had pulled the a-pillar off so many times that finally the clip broke off the plastic. I used JB Weld and fixed it. It still looks fine 6 months later.
