Ordered an Autometer full pillar 3 gauge pod.

DIS recommends removing the OE A-Pillar and drilling holes where the pods are located for the wiring to run thru.

Pulled the A-Pillar STRAIGHT out and GENTLY per the online instructions and the service manual.

The cheap plastic clips on the A-Pillar are "melted" to the pillar. The metal clips on the truck pillar frame are metal and sort of "barbed". These clips DO NOT want to let go. Snapped both A-Pillar clips trying.

Simple solution was to reattach the plastic clips to the A-Pillar with sheet metal screws. You Won`t be able to see them. The Autometer 3 pod pillar will cover them up.

I noticed per the Autometer instructions that there is a gap at the bottom of the gauge A-Pillar for the wires to pass thru. Not true. Its a flush fit. Drilling holes for the wires thru the OE A-Pillar is a good idea.

Over all the Autometer Pod looks good. I real nice fit to the OE Pillar.

Ran into problems w/ Water Temp gauge. The 6' lead is TOO SHORT. Re-Ordered the 12'lead gauge. The 6' might have made it if I was mounting below the dash. Up on the A-Pillar no way.

Just thought I would pass this along. #ad

I did not remove the original A-pillar moulding when I installed my gauge pods. I ran all the wiring and tubing in between the 2 and drilled the holes for the clips while it was in place.
