I have finally gotten up to about 15. 9 MPG. I had the flash done months ago, and really thought something great happened. For about 3 days my computer showed much higher mileage than normal, then tapered down to where it had been running. I tried unhooking the battery daily for a while, but didn't think that it did any good.
I always hand calc'd, but had a wide variance in mileage. About 3 months ago I started filling to the top and the results are much more reasonable (faster I drive, lower the mileage).
I have talked to the owner of the local dealer. One thought that I had was that the reflash might have reset some "long term fuel bias" and would like to go in and reflash the stupid computer daily for a week or so in order to run a tank of fuel and see what happens. There is a new service manager that I talked to yesterday and he said that he has seen computers "revert back" after a reflash, but I don't know about that (sounds like BS to me). Most likely there is something that is biasing the fuel flow. I'd sure like to find a programer that would allow me to modify the fuel curves like I have seen on a Harley. I'd take that 3d injection event to zero flow or move it up to not come in until about 2600 RPM.
I mentioned in a earlier post that the dealer had said something about the computer changing the fuel curves at 5K, 10K, and 15k. I had the flash done at about 8K miles. As I mentioned, it didn't seem to do much good after a couple of days. I saw the biggest mileage improvement by far as I passed 15K miles. Jumped up a couple of MPGs.
From my readings, the LB 4x4 Autos seem to getting the worse mileage, 4x2 6-speed, 3. 73's getting the best. I'd suggest that anyone that votes in the poll ought to post their truck configuration, mods, and mileage. A coworker in Houston has an almost identical truck to mine, except SB. He claims he's getting 18. 5.
My truck - 4x4 electronic, LWB, Auto, 3. 73, stock 265 tires, TSB performed at 8K miles. No mods (yet). Normal driving is 70-75 MPH, some at 80+ unloaded. Occassionally pull a 18' 4 horse stock trailer. Mileage is 14 to 15. 9 MPG depending on way I drive. About 19K total miles on the truck now. Using Mopar oil, plan on changing to synthethic after 20K or so.

If ya'll can think of other stuff to add, let me know. Would be real interesting to get this into one place.
I hate to commit to anything, but if folks will provide the info above, I will put it into an excel spreadsheet and post it. Then it might be a little easier to sort the info.
Last but not least, everybody should call Dodge and complain about the fuel mileage if you are not happy about it. They have messed with the fueling and added a cat in order to not have to make a CA version of the truck. News Flash: Most of us don't live in CA and don't like burning more fuel to lower the NOx coming out of the truck. The more folks that call, the more likely Dodge is going to do something about it.
Man that got way too long. Took 2 1/2 beers to 2 finger type it.....
