O. K Lights sulphur , pops baloons but does not harm drywall or anything the laser touches? Beams have equal strength over +=- 100' on most that can destroy any objects. The wavelength on some can travel millions of miles without degredation ... so how is it that this one is so short ranged?

The wall was white (reflects alot of the energy), the ballon was black (absorbed it and heated up). I'll post back my own results, parts are in the mail...

That is WAY too cool! I have GOT to get parts coming to build one also! I have several "obsolete" mini Mag Lights since replacing them with the new LED units. Just so happen to have a bad DVR drive at work too! :-laf

His cat sure was close in that video! I have "tortured" my cats with one of the cheesie little store bought laser pointers before. They love to chase that little dot around. That bad boy this guy has would set the friggin cat on fire!

I've emailed a friend of mine regarding this.

He is a "professional Potato Cannon maker" This is just the ticket to ignite the hairspray mixture without fouling like the grill starters do.

Hairspray will foul the ignitors, but a shot of propane wont! I had a nice potato gun and can't find the thing. I plan to make another one. Mine was rigged up where propane was shot in through a little orifice I drilled in the end cap. It could still ignite with other fluids, but propane is powerful and clean. I will rig up another one sometime and give better details. The nice thing about the one I had was it had a step which would stop the potato when it got to the bottom of the barrel. the end cap never had to be removed, just loosened a little to let the air out as the potato was being inserted.

MAN those things are fun!!

Think thats fun? Mine used 2" schedule 40 waterpipe and blackpowder:D But I used golfballs... potatoes were to fragile at those speeds...
