Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) a question about the map sensor.

well i got my smarty in and i've had a check engine light on for some time. . well it said it was the map sensor w/ low voltage, so i went to cummins and got a new one but it was smaller in size but the treads were the same. . so i put it in and tried clearing the code but it still says the same thing. could it be the sensor or could it be my drag comp box or the smarty. . the truck runs fine it just sucks having this light on.
