How did yours act? Today on the way to Flagstaff, had the AC going full, and all of a sudden, it seemed like there was no air coming out of the vents. Blower was still running full speed, just no air. Seemed like most of it was coming out the floor vents, but still not much.

Now here is the tricky part..... I got into Flagstaff and finished business at my first stop. Started the truck again, and all is well. Everything ran fine all day, and all the way home this evening.

When your door went out, did it work intermittently first? Or just quit all together?

Should I take it to the shop or wait until it quits comletely?
Thanks..... Steve

Try this next time it happens, turn on the heater for a few minutes. You should get some increased amount of air coming out the vents. If so, your AC is icing over due to a lack of freon. Get it serviced and the problem will go away, mine did. :-laf

I had this problem on a very humid raining day pulling the trailer through the Smokey Mountains. For some reason I thought to add heat to the air mix and we we were showered with tiny ice chips and the return to nice cold air again. The problem has never repeated.

I'd bet your evaporator core is freezing over. Happens to me all the time. I manually cycle off the compressor for a minute or two and it clears up.

Yeah, I now think it was a freezing problem. Numerous times since then, I have switched the baffle from one position to another and it has never failed. Do I need to re-position a sensor somewhere, or is this something we just live with?

Thanks... . Steve

Sounds like mine, it actually happened one day, in the morning it worked in the afternoon it didn't. I took it in and the unit was replaced (one day) with an updated unit. As they explained the original unit didn't have a stop for the blend door so after X amount of cycles the blend door broke blocking the air. It must be quite common as they had a unit in stock... .
