My truck runs extremely good and has gobs of power but for some reason I have more snap at half throttle than I do at full power. . would anyone like to elaborate. . maybe a tune up is in order... I know my TDR friends with there wealth of knowledge have an answer ;) ;)

Perhaps the 'snap' you are talkin' `bout is torque.....

At 1/2 throttle you are more likely than not in the torque peak... . I can feel it in my 160hp :)eek: ) 12-valve... . it pulls like crazy up hills and so forth but there isn't much get up and go. Prime example of loads of torque and not much HP... . plenty of potential to do work(torque), but the rate at which the work is done (HP) isn't all that high by comparison... . it's the nature of the beast... but is easily solved with a few hundred bucks. :D

Matt - if you're not breaking parts... you're not making power!

Okay, that explains it.

Having the TC locked up results in a mechanical connection between your crankshaft and the input shaft of your transmission via the flexplate and torque converter clutch. This mechanical connection transfers more power than with the TC unlocked or torque converter clutch disengaged. Fluid coupling of the torque converter is greatly improved with an upgrade fromDTT. You will transfer more torque all the time... it will feel like your torque converter clutch is engaged non-stop even when it really isn't engaged at all!

Matt - diesel fuel only

Matt its locked in full and half throttle ,its almost as if it is getting to much fuel in relation to the air at full throttle, or maybe i,m just to use to gassers... . :) I think I am nearing the point where my valve lash needs to be set , Its been a while . Thanks for the reply
