A simple VE pump question (I hope)

I took the diaphram and cone out of my pump last night to rotate it to the deepest part.



The little front to back pin that rides on the cone, should it extend out into the bore any? It was flush with the side of the bore when I pulled the cone up and out. I thought it should pop out into the bore where I could see the end of it. I think it may be stuck.



Am I right or confused?

The pin should move back when you move the throttle linkage.

It's stuck then. I hope I can free it up without disassembling the pump. Good times...

What is the sympton(s) of a stuck pin?

Will the pin move at all ? Does it appear in the bore when you trigger the throttle linkage with the cone removed? I haven't heard of a stuck pin before. I suppose anything is possible!!!

If the pin will not move outward with the engine running and blipping the throttle, then yes. She is stuck. No worries. There is help.
