Well, after procrastinating for about 5 months, I finally installed my Autometer gauges, EGT and boost.

I got many/all of my ideas on the install and wire hookups from all of you posting about your installs, some easy, some hard. I combined them and it made it a breez

It went without a hitch and they look sharp!

Hope all of you have a Very Merry Christmas and Happy new year. . :)

Now that I finally got the gauges in, its fuel plate time!!!! I'll wait till next year for that. :)

I put a brand new stock clutch in 8000 miles ago(along with the standard trans upgrade) and have to decide if I'll go with the#12 230/605 plate or #11 280/680 plate?

Dont want to change clutches till I have too. Towing a 15,000# 5th wheel.

I'm thinking the #11 will make the clutch slip pulling the 5th.

I have the #11 torque plate in my 96 3500 with a 5 speed and I pull 30,000 lbs of hay & trailer during hay season. I haven't had the clutch slip yet and it is stock. I had a new clutch plate and press. plate installed when I put the Standard Transmission 5th gear mainshaft in and the old clutch and pp were like new, and I think that was at about 115 to 120 k miles. I always start off in 1st gear wheather I am loaded or not and just use common sense when pulling a load and don't get in a hurry. I'd say put the #11 plate in there. You won't regret it. Good luck and happy holidays.

If all you do is the #11 plate and the clutch is in good shape now, it will hold just a #11 plate. But if you are like most of us Bombers that will only fill the need for power a short time and anything else you'll need a clutch.
