AAM 11.5 oil

Well I finally got my AFE rear cover and its a thing of beauty. Worth the wait as it seems they were won backorder for a while. But I've been trying to find whats the latest recommended oil as things can change over the years. Take my Jeeps AX5 recommend oil for instance. I'm leaning towards the 75w-140 since its mainly a southern truck and has been known to get into the 10T+ at times. Search wasn't helping a whole lot.

Ive seen ATS, Mag Hi Tec, now AFE!!



Go with the 75-140 Mopar. I ran the stuff for over 75K. When I drained it, it looked like the day I poured it in. I run a PML up front with 75/90 due to it not seeing much use.



The next change im going for 100K

I have talked to AAM about fluid for this axle and they spec 75w-90 for all conditions. They state that if you tow over the GCWR often at death valley temps you may benefit from 75w-140, but its not common.



With the extra capacity, I am guessing its similar to the MH and holds 8 qts, and extra cooling you would probably be just fine with 75w-90, but if you want a little more I suggest the 75w-110 from Amsoil. Its a tweener and should bridge the gap nicely.

Thanks guys, I'm sure the 75w-90 is more common at the chain auto stores. Sythentic GL5 correct. I didn't get to get it on this weekend due to all the rain we had down here. This one AFE says holds 5qts.
