I talked to a guy at a fuel station who had a 90 Dodge diesel. I asked if he was in the Dodge diesel club. He said never heard of such a thing. I did hand him a club brochure. Then he says I don't think I will get another diesel. I say why. He said they are too expensive to fix. He had to pull the injection pump for $1500 to get repaired. New transmission and so on. He had 160,000 miles on it and pulled a fifth wheel camper.
But here is where I was a little confused. He said in order to pull the brake shoes off you litteraly have to tear apart the axle. He had the dealer do this for him. I wonder if the dealer scammed this guy or is he right about tearing apart the axle to change brake shoes?
