Just got done installing a #10 Plate. I put the plate in the stock position, checked the governor lever adjustment, and put the AFC in the stock position. My ? is, Should I leave the AFC in the stock position which was pretty close to completely to the rear? or Should I slide it forward? What does sliding the AFC forward Do? Thanks Pete

Slide ACF housing foreword to start with and bottom out the star wheel all the way foreword then back about 2 turns. this gives you a good starting point. Sliding the ACF gives you more Pre-boost fueling, once the turbo builds boost then the ACF arm will move forward and the governer arm will hit your new fuel plate. If it gives you too much smoke, all you need to do is back star wheel up a little, if you run out of throttle response or it feels tight and low in power then the star wheel is too far back, back the ACF housing about 1/16" to the rear and start over with your star wheel forward. It gets kinda repetitive but once you get it set right, you will notice it and the truck will run very well. Your stock auto won't like the #10 plate for very long if you use the power by the way. Do you intend to upgrade soon?

I was told that the #10 would be a good choose for the stock Auto since it allows the transmission to build some line pressure before it really takes off. Thats why I left everything in the stock position. I looked at the star wheel and in the stock location it is further toward the front of the engine. I'm new to diesels. This is the first one that I have owned.

Sliding the AFC forward helps a lot. . Just watch that stock transmission, all this new HP can really tear em up. I`d leave the star wheel in the same position until you see how sliding the AFC reacts, for smoke. The star wheel can make a big difference in black smoke at low rpm. With fuel costs, I try to smoke as little as possible. . (unless theres a ricer on my right, of course lol)

Howd that KDP jig work out dood?
