2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission ABS and brake light coming on sporatically

While I am driving the brake and ABS light will come on for a few seconds and then go off only to do it again shortly after. I checked the brake fluid and it is only . 5" below full, could this potentially be causing it or is it something else?

could be the rear speed sensor in the rear. mine went bad and the brake light would not go off.

Rear Wheel Speed Sensor or the 2' of wiring pigtail going to it.

What am I looking at to get it replaced? Is it worth doing through the dealer or myself?

Rear Wheel Sensor

This is a very easy job that you can do yourself. The part costs between $35. 00 to $40. 00 depending on you dealer.



It's located on top of your rear differential in the middle. It should be the only electrical connection.



Just disconnect the harness from the sensor, remove a reatining nut that holds a small metal shield which also holds the harness in place, and then remove the bolt which holds the sensor.



You'll have to twist it a bit and slowly pry it out. The entire process shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.
