Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) ABS clunk when key on

I just installed guages in my friend 99. when you turn the key on to wait for the "Wait to Start" light to go out. there is a clunk in the ABS motor/ solenoid unit . My friend says its been there since new. Any ideas????

Sounds normal, Mine does it but I just thought it was a door in the heat & a/c moving. I never have tried to track it down, all the trucks I test drove did the same thing.
