2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Next Up?

As I slow down to make a stop on dry pavement I have noticed that the ABS kicks in (feels like I am driving on a washboard surface). The lights on the dash do not come on and the engine rpm increases - truck wants to speed up and then the rpm's go back to normal. This has happened about 7 out of 10 times.

Anyone have a clue what it might be or what I should check?

Thanks, Richard

Might be two separate issues.

The two front wheel speed sensors are prone to getting rubbed through by the rotor, and then there is the sensor in the rear diff. Check the wiring for all three for breaks or rub through.

The engine RPM increasing may be the APPS/TPS flaking out from the vibration of the ABS kicking in.

Thanks for getting back to me Sticks. My truck has just the RW ABS so I think I might just pull the fuse and see what happens and go from there.

I pulled the fuse and the same thing still happens. It almost seems that when I slow to about 12 mph the engine rpm increases and the truck speeds up. When I apply the brakes I get that washboard feeling. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Richard
