I finally replaced my antilock brake controller yesterday (and the rear wheel sensor). The good news is that speedo and odo are both working quite fine now. The bad news is the ABS light is blinking - indicating it stored a DTC.

Went to the dealer to have the CAB programmed. Tech cleared the codes, set the tire size and axle to OEM defaults and reset the CAB. No help. Light still blinks. The codes indicate the pinion ring tooth count and tire revs/mile values are out of range. (Revs/mile is shown as 65535. ) The dealer can't explain it and wants the truck for a day to 'diagnose' the problem.

Since the speedo seems to be accurate, I'm tempted to just unplug the dash light. I don't really care if the anti-lock brake works or not. I've driven it for about 50K miles now with just the proportioning valve and haven't had any troubles.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? How did you resolve it? Would disconnecting the batteries for 10 minutes convince the CAB and PCM to play together nicely? Is there a trick to programming the default OEM values into the CAB?

Thanks!
