Three months ago I added a ball for a gooseneck and trailer brakes. A month ago the light came on. The truck has 65,000 miles on it.

The light stays on on all the time. Any ideas? Thanks

Is the regular parking brake light illuminated also?

I was talking to a tech. at dlr. about how many miles we could get on wheel brgs. , and told him I check the temp. on mine whenever I stop, as I have 290K on mine now. He said that is probably not necessary, cause when the brg. gets bad the ABS light will come on and stay on. Anyone know if that is true??

Yep happened to me... . Changed Front wheel Hub Assembly Drivers side. 350. 00 from Dealer. Drive truck for awhile then get out and feel the front wheels which one is hotter thats the one. Aloha Ron

PAwtry, on second generations the wheel speed sensor would go bad or the connector to the wheel speed sensor was loose/dirty. Don't know if it would turn on just the brake warning light or both brake and abs light.

The brake warning light will come on if a brake light bulb is burned out.

Turn the key on and off a few times and see what codes it is throwing... Should help find out where it is messing up...

You can find a big truck tire dealer with an electric spinner (used for balancing) and he can put the machine on the tire while jacked up and you can easily tell which hub is bad. It will make a definite humming noise. I had a hub go bad on my 04. 5 without the ABS lght coming on. There is also a sensor in the top of the differential (cant remeber name of it) that will also make ABS light come on. The ABS light being on will not necessarily leave a code. I had the ABS light come on also when the mechanic installed a FASS pump for me. He cut the wire for the sensor on the differential when removing the tank.

Been there - done that.

Check all the sensors... I live in VT and with the snow, it would regularly cover the speed sensor on the wheel and trigger the light (Also lost ABS functionality) Check for mud or debris first !
