How exactly can you tell if you have 4 wheel ABS or 2 wheel ABS. The reason that i ask is that i want to the Hurst Roll Control.

Thanks

Trey

If people what to see what this is look on the Summit Racing site under the part #HUU-1745000

I found a picture in the manual, the speed sensor wires are on top of the wheel bearing inside the brake rotor, no wires going into the front hubs means no front anti lock brakes.

Trey,

There are two guaranteed ways to tell. First, open your glove compartment. If no one has removed it, there will be a sticker on the door that lists some codes. If it shows BGK, then you have 4-wheel ABS from the factory. (This sticker exists on my 2000 model truck. I don't know if they stopped putting it there after my truck was built. )

The second method is to call or visit your Dodge dealer and ask them to look up your VIN in their computer. They should be able to tell you whether or not your truck was built with 4-wheel ABS. Also, if you drive the truck to the dealer, someone there should be able to tell you by looking at it.

Third (not guaranteed) is to listen to me. I'd say that you DO NOT have 4-wheel ABS. On my truck, which does have it, there is a pump and controller mounted just behind the under-hood power distribution center. That's the black plastic box on the left side of the truck that contains all those big amperage fuses. The 4-wheel ABS unit has a controller on top with two big electrical connections to a wiring harness. Beneath that is the pump, which has an electric motor. The motor looks just like a motor. I don't see this unit in your photo #2 (above).

On the other hand, I don't know what a 2-wheel ABS system looks like, or they may have changed things a bit between my truck and yours. The build codes and the dealer would be the final answer.

Good luck.

Loren
