My ABS and brake panel light stays on and my speedometer doesn't work. I checked the sensor above the rear differential and cleaned it best I could, although it was already relatively clean. but still have the problem. Is there any other sensor I should check or should I just assume that I need to replace the before mentioned sensor?

Also I tried the trick of bumping the ignition three times to get the error codes, but failed at that attempt too.

I would be pretty sure the ABS/speed sensor is bad. When I got my truck the ABS/Speed sensor had been hit and was unplugged causing the brake light to be on and no speedometer. I don't know how common this is for Dodges but I just replaced the differential speed sensors on two Fords this week to get the ABS lights to go out (codes pointed to sensor). I'm sure others with more experience will chime in here.

I would agree with Mark. Could be wiring or a loose plug too. I would guess you have 4W ABS? What kind of truck do you have? BTW – Welcome to the TDR!
